Casa Colibri (Queretaro)

Step through the door on 5 de Mayo in Queretaro and the noise of the Historic Center falls away. This home sits in one of Querétaro's most privileged corners, just steps from Plaza Fundadores, and it announces itself quietly: thick adobe walls, ceilings that rise seven meters overhead, and beams that have watched over this address since long before the house took its current form. Architect Miguel Concha, an award-winning queretano, didn't build this home from scratch. He rescued it, coaxing a modern residence out of a much older structure without erasing what made it special.
